Warriors in need of a big man

The Warriors lost another close one to the division rival Kobe Bryant and the lakers.  The Warriors lost this game in the fouth quarter as they always seem to do.  What the Warriors need in the linup is a solid big man.  Yes bedrins is a great player and turiaf is a great defensive player but if they had a Chris bosh or a Kevin Garnet that will give then solid numbers on a daily basis they could be one of the top teams in the league.  The Warriors right now have so much talent in the guards they have but very little depth in the center spot.  The warriors already run an offense the most teams cannot keep up with.  The run and gun style gives a lot of teams headaches.  If you put a dominant center in the mix you wont have to slow your fast breaks and in the half court you have a big man that can give you some half court offense where they lack.

Keywords: Andres Beidrins, Corey Maggette, Golden State Warriors, Jamal Crawford, Lakers-Warriors, Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson

  1. Bottom Line is defense wins championships. If the Warriors ever want to reach the Finals it must first start on the defensive end. They are great offensively but good offense can only take you so far. Over the last 9 years all NBA Finals winners had a great defensive core. With the exception of the Heat in 05-06 (although they did have the big aristotle down low!) A big man will definetely help out but Don Nelson does not stress the importance of defense. Mike D'Antoni has the same philosophy as Nelson. Get a shot up within 12 seconds and shoot more shots than your opponent. It's really sad the Warriors did not take advantage of the trade deadline. Tyson Chandler was a big name on the market who would have helped on the defensive end. Sure he didn't pass the physical but every team has a different doctor! Another thing the Warriors must do is get a floor general. When they lost Baron Davis it really hurt them. A true point guard is hard to find now days. With the combination of a PG, C/PF, and defensive minded players the Warriors can go a long way. Never was big on Chris Mullen as a GM. This guy never seems to make any positive moves and consistantly has made poor draft day decisions. When your in the Western Conference running and gunning may take you to the playoffs. But just ask Pheonix how effective the style is in the playoffs.
